Taxis to go on strikeTaxis shall not be moving on the roads on Thursday calling for the one day walkout by unions next to the government's stillness over their demand to raise the fares.

The strike call was declared after the discussions between representatives of the taxi unions followed by the Bengal Taxi alliance, President Bimal Guha and state transport minister Ranjit Kundu who botched during the Writers' Buildings on Wednesday.

According to the President Bimal Guha they have planned to clutch the one day strike on Thursday next to the government's disregard to peep into their complaints. They are only carrying out a one-day nominal walk out as they have posed us to wait for next 15 days.

They would have waited till July 31 but the government failed to react on their demands, thus the union has decided to chalk out the future plans of agitation.

The taxi drivers earlier had also endangered to move an imprecise strike from July 15 if the demands raised by them for hiking the fare were not met.
