Petrol to be reviewed every monthThe Government forbidden oil marketing groups determined to appraise the retail rates of petrol on a monthly base. However, the date for the subsequent price analysis and the apparatus to glue the price is yet to be concluded.

The three of the OMCs have given the consent to uphold a consistent rate of the fuel for the coming next three months and let the market forces to conclude the prices after this. This defines that by the mid-October, the customers in India shall have the choice to select a retail channel which tenders them the best contract. The choice was taken in a convention of senior executives of Indian Oil Corporation, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and Bharat Petroleum Corporation with Union Petroleum Secretary S Sundareshan.

According to S V Narasimhan, director (Finance) the oil marketing group has planned that the rates of petrol shall be appraised on a monthly base except there is a pointed variation in crude oil and international petrol rates Indian Oil after the meeting expressed that since the prices have inclined from the month of June 25, they shall take a call towards the end of month.
