Swann wins England Cricketer of the year award
Rising off-spinner Graeme Swann has been declared the "England Cricketer of the Year". He has managed to beat some other leading players of the team to pocket this award.
It has been declared in the awards evening hosted by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Swann has claimed this award beating his team mates Stuart Broad, Andrew Strauss, Paul Collingwood and James Anderson.
Swann has expressed his contentment of receiving this award for this year. After receiving the award, the 31-year-old English cricketer has said that he is absolutely delighted to win this award. He has also said that this year has been magical for him.
The record of Swann for this year was truly fantastic. He has played 45 matches for England in all formats of the game during the year and has managed to take 99 wickets. His average has been impressive as well. He has taken these wickets with an average of 26.26.
Moreover, English cricketer Katherine Brunt and all-rounder Chris Edwards were declared ECB women's and the England Disability Cricketer of the Year award respectively.
