Maruti Suzuki`s Chairman, R. C. Bhargava, said that the country's biggest car maker will continue to focus on small cars.

``I don`t think we will ever be known as a large car manufacturer,`` Bhargava said.

He indicated that India is going to remain a small car hub.

``Given our infrastructure, given our concern for value for money, given high fuel costs, I don`t think Indians will go for fuel guzzlers,`` Mr. Bhargava said.

He added that the company was the first to make recovery from the worldwide slump though capacity constraint will continue to be a major issue with several vendors plus car manufacturers.

He also said that because of the slump, several vendors did not strengthen their capacities and were now finding it hard to meet up the growing demand.

He said if the gross domestic product grows at the same level, the industry will continue to do well though high inflation could be a dampener. (With Inputs from Agencies)
