Pakistan's president call acid attack on three young girls "barbaric"According to the authorities, Pakistan's president called an acid-throwing attack on three young girls "barbaric" and demanded provincial authorities find the suspects.

Pakistan's The Nation newspaper has reported that three sisters, ages 20, 14 and 8, were targeted Thursday in the town of Kalat and had acid thrown in their faces. All three were rushed to a local hospital, where one of the victims was in serious condition.

The Nation further said that no one has claimed responsibility, although a group calling itself Tehrik Rah-e-Nijaat distributed a pamphlet recently warning women to remain indoors and avoid "wandering" in the shopping centers without their blood relatives.

The provincial government has been ordered by President Asif Ali Zardari to provide medical care and rehabilitation for the victims.

The Nation also reported that this was the second incident of acid-throwing against women in two weeks, following an earlier attack in Dalbandin. (With Inputs from Agencies)
