IIM-L introduces school children to management education
The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L) organized a daylong event of activities during its annual event Ocumen-'10 in the city campus on Sunday for the school children from 19 different schools in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chandigarh and Lucknow.
The school children received some knowledge of Finance, Marketing and Human Resource aspects of Management. The students of IIM-L designed different activities including games and competitions to provide an introductory feel of management to the next generation of students.
Children learned as complex aspects as supply chain, personnel management, and were made to present a plan for year 2025 in a mock Parliament session. The school kids also had the unique opportunity to experience life at a B-school.
The visiting teams expressed that the experience would motivate the children to aspire to be part of a prestigious institute like IIM-L in future. The teachers were involved in panel discussions and team building games.
The students of the institute were pleased with the experience as well, as it reminded them of their school days. The spokesperson of the Media Relations Committee, Gaurav Dixit who is also a first year student said about the event that it has been happening since 2004 and it aims at creating awareness about Management theories and practices among the next generation of students.
