Leading telecom service provider, Bharti Airtel has rolled out various M-Commerce solutions, such as Mobile Money Transfer (MMT), postpaid bill payment and prepaid recharge on the mobile phone.

Airtel has launched the m-commerce solutions in association with leading banks such as ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, SBI, Corporation Bank besides VISA and mChek.

Developed by mChek, the M-commerce solutions allow Airtel subscribers with a credit or debit card to buy movie, air and rail tickets, recharge their phones, transfer money, pay bills directly from their cell phone.

Existing Airtel clients can easily access the newly launched service by sending a text message “Airtel’ to 543219, and then download an application to their GPRS-enabled handset.

Gopal Vittal, Airtel’s Director (Marketing and Communications) said that the solutions and the service are completely safe and had been certified by the a stringent globally accepted security standard - Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
