Goa Police net two more for serial killingsPanjim, Oct 16 : Goa Police on Friday detained a father-son duo in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Evita Rodrigues.

Following this development, police seem to be close to nabbing all those behind the serial killings that have rocked rock the tourist hub over the last couple of days.

During their interrogation, Goa Police collected evidence that suggested the duo's hand in the killing of Rodrigues.

Police arrested the father and the son after Rodrigues cell phone records showed that they made over 300 calls in the last 20 days.

Rodrigues, apparently, had lost a gold chain in September and the two men continuously called her, demanding she meet them if she wanted her chain back.

Fed up by the nuisance, she agreed to meet them on Sunday, but only to be found dead on Monday.

Meanwhile, in a late night operation, Goa Police arrested four persons from the Chimbel locality in Panjim in connection with the killing of four members of one family, including a 35-year-old woman. The woman was sexually abused before being murdered.

According to the police, the victims were hit by a heavy object on their heads and the bodies were dumped in a nearby creek in a bid to destroy evidence.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Ravindra Yadav informed the media that "The main motive behind the murders was to avenge the woman''s refusal to have sex with them (accused)."

DIG Yadav added that two more people are still at large and police are on the look out for them. (ANI)
