Pak draws ‘red line’ over US troops on its soil
Washington, Oct. 8 : Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that the country’s security forces are capable enough of carrying out an operation against extremists in tribal areas and that it does not need the help of US troops for that purpose.
“No, we don’t need that... because we are capable of doing it ourselves,” Qureshi said in an interview to CNN.
“Any US ground involvement will not be accepted by the people of Pakistan because that’s a red line,” he added.
Responding to a question Qureshi said the Taliban and Al Qaeda militants have forced to move out of Pakistan due to the continuous and steady anti-militancy campaign. (ANI)
