Central team to review developmental projects in J-K
Srinagar, Oct 5 : A team of government officials led by Union Cabinet Secretary K M Chandrashekar will visit Jammu and Kashmir today to review the progress of developmental projects in the state.
Chandrashekar will lead a delegation of secretaries from 17 Ministries.
The team will hold meetings with various state government officials. Besides, they will hold discussion on the progress of the Prime Minister's special reconstruction package for the state announced during the UPA's first term.
During their two-day visit, Chandrashekar will also call upon State Governor N N Vohra and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
The reconstruction plan for Jammu and Kashmir has been listed as a top priority in the second term of UPA.
The Centre has only recently extended the period for implementing the projects under the package at the request of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. (ANI)
