The registration process for Common Admission Test (CAT) will begin on September 9 and the entire process will held through computer, for the first time since the inception of CAT - a gateway to get admission in the prestigious Management Institutes of the country.

CAT will be held on November 28, as per official notification, stimulating the heartbeat of thousands of candidates who are burning midnight oil to materialize their dreams of admission in the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).

IIMs will take the services of a US-based firm, to conduct the competitive exam at 30 centers, to offer hassle-free online support to the candidates. The online exam will be held in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, New Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, Guwahati, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and some other prominent towns of the country.

The country has seven prestigious B-Schools - at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow and Shillong - with a total admission capacity of 1800 students. Other 50 prominent B-schools, in addition to IIMs, also admit students based on their performance in CAT merit list.
