Totti brace gives Roma good away draw
Hamburg - Two goals by Italian forward Francesco Totti on Thursday gave Italian Serie A side AS Roma a good 3-3 away draw in a first leg Europa League play-off game.
Seven minutes from the break Totti equalized Marko Milinkovic fifth minute opener for Slovakian side MFK Kosice from the penalty spot.
In the second half Jeremy Menez gave the visitors the lead and Totti made it a two-goal cushion in the 67th minute, but a late flurry by the home side saw Jan Novak pull one back for Kosice in the 71st minute.
The same player gave the home fans something to cheer about with an equalizer ten minutes later.
Swiss side Basel came from behind to register a 3-1 victory at FK Baki in Azerbaijan.
Fernando Perez opened the scoring for Baki four minutes after the restart, but three goals in the space of six minutes saw Basel turn things around late in the second half.
Swiss international Marco Streller scored in the 71st and 74th minute and Benjamin Huggel added a third in the 77th.
In other early matches, Teplice needed a late equalizer a minute from the end to play to a 1-1 draw at home against Hapoel Tel-Aviv, while Brazilian playmaker Sandrinho gave Litex Lovech an important 1- 0 away win at Belarussian club BATE Borisov.
