GM seeking aid pledge from EU governments
Washington - General Motors wants new government aid commitments from Germany and other European governments to accompany a revised bid for its Opel division it received earlier Thursday.
Austrian-Canadian car-parts manufacturer Magna and its Russian partner Sberbank said earlier in the day that they had reached an agreement in principle to buy struggling automotive firm Opel from General Motors.
The request for more information or more aid could pose a possible hitch in the deal.(dpa)
