Traditional sweets making a comeback in UK

Traditional sweets making a comeback in UKLondon, August 12 : If reports are to be believed, people have once again started to incline towards old-style sweets like pear drops and rhubarb and custard.

It is said that sales of flying saucers, and sherbet dip dabs have increased by up to 35 per cent in the past year at Waitrose, an upmarket supermarket in the UK.

Waitrose is said to be launching traditional sweets as part of its “sweet revival” campaign.

The store is asking customers to vote for their favourites online.

“It’s the nation’s chance to bring back their old favourites,” the Daily Express quoted Waitrose confectionary buyer Matthew Jones as saying. (ANI)
