Pristina - Three children were killed and six people were injured when a truck ploughed into a house in Kosovo, local media reported Sunday.

The children, aged between seven and 14, were in their home in Suvi Do, a village 70 kilometres north-west of the capital Pristina, when the truck slammed into their home on Saturday, police spokesman Besim Hoti was quoted as saying.

Five people who were also in the house and the truck driver were injured. A police investigation was launched.

The roads in Kosovo have been improved over the decade since the war ravaged Serbia's former province, but the driving habits and the state of many vehicles remain poor.(dpa)
