PML-N’s UK wing joins Lord Nazir’s call to prosecute Musharraf in British courtsLondon, Aug. 7 : The UK wing of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has joined Lord Nazir Ahmed's anti-Musharraf campaign, which calls for the former Pakistani dictator's prosecution in British courts.

The PML-N's UK wing chief Zubair Gull, Barrister Abid Hussain and Lord Ahmed held a video meeting on Wednesday to discuss a case against Musharraf on behalf of the People of Pakistan, The Dawn reports.

Earlier, a panel of top lawyers had sought advice on the legality of Musharraf's actions in Pakistan from UK's well-known human rights law firm Bindmans LLP.

After receiving its `consent to advice' letter from the law firm, Lord Ahmed left for Pakistan to talk to families of the affected people, including those who fell victim to "Musharraf's atrocities in Balochistan."

Earlier, Lord Nazir had blamed Musharraf for the current dismal situation in Pakistan, saying that everything was smooth till 1999 when the dictator overthrew the elected government and took over the country.

"There was no terrorism, Taliban, security concerns or economic crises before Musharraf. Pakistan has paid a huge price in the ongoing war on terror. Musharraf took U-turn on Kashmir policy on the instigation of the US against the interests of the country, he said.

On the Indo-Pak Kashmir dispute, Lord Ahmed said the US solution was not acceptable to Pakistanis, adding that third party mediation was necessary to resolve the issue. (ANI)
