Leaders of G-5 countries meet in Italy

Leaders of G-5 countries meet in ItalyL''Aquila (Italy), July 9 : Leaders of the Group of Five emerging countries -- Brazil, India, China, Mexico and South Africa -- met on the sidelines of G-8 Summit on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Mexican President Felipe Calderon and South African President Kgalema Motlanthe met in the Italian town of L''Aquila.

China was represented by its State Councilor, Dai Bingguo, as President Hu Jintao return home to deal with unrest in western Xinjiang province.

The G-5 leaders discussed the global economy, climate change and world aid.

Earlier, G-8 leaders met in L''Aquila and discussed the State of the global economy, which is struggling to overcome its worst recession. (ANI)
