One killed in wind, rainstorms in Italy
Rome - One man was killed and several buildings damaged in severe wind and rainstorms striking Italy at the weekend, Italian media reports said Sunday.
A kite-surfing teacher was caught by a whirlwind and slammed against a house in Campo di Mare on Saturday, killing him.
In the nearby city of Cerveteri, a strong whirlwind damaged the roofs of buildings, destroyed a playground and uprooted trees, blocking streets.
In Rome itself, a cloudburst led to flooding in the streets and disrupted train services. (dpa)
