Youtube reaches acme of its popularity with over 1 billion video streams per dayGoogle’s supersite Youtube has announced that it is at the acme of its popularity with over 1 billion video streams per day. The number declared by the Google’s video sharing website Youtube is nearly three quarters more than the data noted by the data bean-counters at Nielson and ComScore.

ComScore’s recent data has shown that Youtube streams just under 7 billion videos per month in the United States, up from around 5 billion/month late last year. According to ComScore’s recent data, Youtube is number one video site with about 225 million streams a day, followed by MySpace, Hulu, Yahoo, Viacom, Microsoft, etc.

Nielsen’s recent data has revealed that YouTube streams 5.5 billion videos/month in the United States.

However, the search giant Google has declared that the real number of Youtube streams/day is above 1 billion/day worldwide. That makes YouTube undisputed king of online video, with 72 per cent of web streaming originating from YouTube.
