The security division of EMC Corporation based in Bedford, Massachusetts, RSA India has teamed up with Secude India to provide SAP security applications to the large business enterprises in the manufacturing segment. Secude India and RSA India have announced to work jointly to fetch “identification, authentication, encryption and access control to the management of the SAP systems to cut down the cases of insider attacks and data breaches in business enterprises.

Observing that the ERP system has increasingly become cardinal in business enterprises, the Managing Director of Secude India, Jagan Nathan Vaman stated that if the ERP system fails for a few minutes, particularly in large manufacturing enterprises, it affects them adversely. If a single instance could affect adversely, consider the impact of 80 percent of attacks happening inside the company. Thus it is apparent that the need for securing the application is more.

Vaman claimed that Secude aims to send message to the market that they are well equipped to deliver risk managed SAP. He stated that the approach is to tout that the Secude RSA team will deliver technology solutions to the glitches in the area of access management and authentication, and the Secude RSA authentication is unique and unparalleled in security domain.

The Country Manager, RSA India, Amuleek Birjal stated that they are highly excited with their partnership deal with Secude, which has opened their SAP security solutions to more customers in India. Birjal added that their security solutions in the manufacturing domain will be more than welcomed by the end customers.

RSA India is in an exclusive alliance with Secude, but Birjal stated that in the next six months, the company looks to work with solution providers that work as SAP consultants to the target manufacturing companies. The company aims to make more SAP partners in the country, and the company is also looking to explore the idea of working with other ERP vendors over time, though initially it will limit itself to SAP. Currently, RSA India has about 35 partners in three categories — Signature, Solution Providers and Access. Bijral said that the company is planning to grow this number to around 50 by the end of this year.

RSA and Secude decided to target the manufacturing segment because the two companies reckoned that this segment is not adequately addressed by the global security companies, as they focus more on financial institutions. RSA and Secude aim to target the top 900 large-scale enterprises of 3,000 manufacturing companies that have SAP deployed on their systems.

Secude India was previously known as Altrion Technologies that was a SAP ERP integration and SAP security and technology consulting firm. Altrion Technologies was acquired by Swiss-based Secude AG and re-structured it as Secude India in 2008.
