Pak court extends remand of Mumbai terror suspects
Rawalpindi, Apr. 15 : Pakistan's Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has extended the judicial custody of five Mumbai terror suspects for 14 days.
Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) would now present the accused before the court on April 28, the Daily Times reports.
The court set up in Adiala Jail premises is trying Shahid Jamil Riaz, Hammad Amin Sadiq, Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, Abdul Wajid alias Zarar Shah and Mazhar Iqbal alias Abu Al-Qama.
The suspects were presented before the court of Justice Sakhi Muhammad Kahoot after expiry of their 14-day judicial remand.
The special public prosecutor (SPP) and an FIA inspector informed the court that suspects were active members of banned organisation Lashkar-e-Tayyaba (LT) and were accused of facilitating the act of terrorism in Mumbai.
The FIA inspector informed the court that they needed more time to compile a comprehensive charge sheet against them and arrest their accomplices.
On this the court extended their judicial remand for 14 days and put off the hearing till April 28. (ANI)
