Medical Care Should Not Be Affected Due To Ego Clashes: HC

Medical Care Should Not Be Affected Due To Ego Clashes: HC In response to a letter alleging carelessness by an AIIMS doctor, the Delhi High Court said on Tuesday that internal clashes at the hospital would not to be tolerated at the cost of those suffering.

Showing worry over the physicians not performing their responsibilities appropriately, the bench headed by Chief Justice A P Shah said, “No body should be victimised because of ego clash.”

The letter was written by Rekha, the mother of a month-old baby.

In her letter, Rekha told the court that her baby had a heart problem and was admitted in AIIMS under the management of Doctor A K Bisoi, a Cardio Thoracic Surgeon.

The mother of the baby blamed the hospital authorities for ignoring her kid after Bisoi was suspended by the Health Minister on March 9.

“We are interested in saving the child. Tell us how you are going to do it. We are not concerned about internal disputes in the hospital,” the court said, adding, “patients are suffering because of internal fighting.”

The High Court has asked the hospital to appoint one expert doctor before this afternoon to provide the required treatment to the baby at the earliest.

“No body should be victimised because of ego clash,” the court said.

The treatment of around 11 kids was left pending after the Bisoi’s suspension.

Dr. R C Deka, AIIMS director, also instructed the cardio-thoracic and vascular sciences centre (CTVS) to make sure that the five other surgeons of the centre attended to Bisoi’s patients.
