Injured Pak umpire vows to return back to cricket field soon
Lahore, Mar. 19: Pakistani umpire Ahsan Raza, who was severely injured during the terror attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team, is keen to return to the cricket field as soon as possible.
Raza, while talking to reporters in hospital said he is not deterred by the incident and looking forward to get back on the field to continue his career.
He had undergone two surgeries to repair a collapsed right lung and a damaged liver after being hit by bullets during the terror attack.
Doctors said it would take another 8 to 10 days before Raza is discharged from the hospital, The Daily Time reports.
Raza along with the Sri Lankan players Ajantha Mendis and Thilan Samaraweera were seriously wounded in the attack. While Mendis was discharged earlier this week, Samaraweera is still recuperating in the hospital. (ANI)
