PLA urges Prachanda to speed up rehabilitation of disqualified cadres
Kathmandu, Mar 16 : Maoist People''s Liberation Army (PLA) commanders have urged Prime Minister Prachanda to expedite the process of rehabilitating disqualified cadres staying in the cantonments.
At the meeting of the PLA general staff here on Sunday, the commanders asked Prachanda, who is also the coordinator of Army Integration Special Committee (AISC) to shift disqualified cadres from the cantonments and make suitable arrangement for their rehabilitation.
"We are sharing the provisions provided to qualified cadres to upkeep cadres disqualified by the United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN)," commanders informed Prachanda.
They have asked the Prime Minister to provide employment to disqualified cadres in either security agencies or other sectors.
Prachanda assured them that AISC would find an alternate means to rehabilitate the disqualified combatants.
According to Nepalnews, UNMIN had disqualified some 12,000 cadres in its second verification in 2008. Many of them have already left the cantonments. (ANI)
