Samsung Announces Price Cuts
Electronics goods maker, Samsung has slashed the prices of its products between 1 and 1.7% to pass on the full benefit of 2% cut in excise duty to its clients.
In a statement, the company said that it has cut the prices of its high-end LCD TVs by 1.2-1.7% according to the model size that transforms into a price cut in the range of Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000.
The price cut for Plasma TVs is between Rs 1,000 and Rs 2,000 depending on the model size, the statement added.
On the other hand, the frost free refrigerators will be cheaper by 1-1.5%, while in the case of washing machines, the price cut ranges between 1 to 1.6% for semi automatic washing machines and fully auto washing machines.
For refrigerators, the price benefit to customers’ ranges from Rs 100-Rs 300 and the slashed rates would come into effect from Thursday.
Moreover, Dish TV also said that it will pass on the complete benefit of service tax cut to subscribers with immediate effect.
In a declaration, the company said, “The service tax has been reduced from 12.36 per cent to 10.36 per cent and the subscribers will now be charged as per the new rate of service tax.”
