German Parliament agrees to stimulus package
Berlin- The German Parliament signed off on Friday on Chancellor Angela Merkel's 50-billion-euro (63 billion dollars) stimulus package, which is aimed at spurring economic growth in Europe's biggest economy.
The upper house of parliament, the Bundesrat, agreed to the package of measures, which represents the biggest stimulus plan in Germany's post-Second World War history.
The measures include boosting spending on schools and roads as well as a cut in the lowest income tax rate along with additional support for families with children. (dpa)
