Cricket commitments may delay Michael Clarke’s wedding
Melbourne, Feb 19 : Australian vice-captain Michael Clarke's wedding with fiance Lara Bingle might be delayed because of heavy cricket schedule this year.
The couple decided to marry on October 3 after a 10-month engagement.
Their agent denied the couple set a day to tie the knot but admitted that because of Clarke's cricket commitments, it is not going to happen this year.
"The couple have set no date. And the reason is, quite simply, Clarkie has no time. Not this year," the Daily Telegraph quoted their agent Chris White, as saying.
According to sources, there is only one brief 10-day window that might accommodate a wedding and honeymoon in 2009 - it is May 12-23.
The rest of the year Clarke is travelling or playing cricket.
"She wants a proper wedding in Sydney, with her family, in the southern suburbs," the Daily Telegraph quoted a source, as saying.
"They didn''t skimp on the engagement party (held at Luna Park). They are not going to skimp on the wedding," the source added.
Unless they organise a quickie wedding, en route to either the United Arab Emirates, England, Sri Lanka or India, the wedding is unlikely to happen until after March 2010. (ANI)
