Melbourne, Feb. 11: Troubled Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds failed to score a one-day hundred on Wednesday in what was pegged as his road to redemption at the MCG.

The Queenslander scored just 36 runs in a one-day match against Victoria.

The man once regarded as the most destructive limited-overs batsman in the world has never scored a one-day century for his state.

In 74 interstate one-day matches stretching back to his debut against South Australia in 1994, when current Australian coach Tim Nielsen caught him behind - he has never reached triple figures.

Symonds'' domestic limited-overs record, averaging just 28 in a 15-year-career, is the biggest blot on the master blaster''s career.

The 33-year-old has six one-day international centuries.

It has amazed his Queensland team-mates he has not been able to produce that form at domestic level.

After a season which has never got off the tarmac, Symonds returned to his devastating best at the weekend when he belted 137 off 117 balls (21 fours and a six) for his Gold Coast club side.

Queensland coach Trevor Barsby, who watched Symonds, said the all-rounder could be poised to explode with the bat. (ANI)
