UP budget session adjourned after unruly start
Lucknow, Feb 10: The 2009-10 budget session of the Uttar Pradesh assembly got off to an unruly start here on Tuesday with the opposition stalling the opening address of Governor T V Rajeshwar.
As soon as Rajeshwar entered the House to address the joint session of the legislature, members of the Samajwadi Party, the Rashtriya Lok Dal and the Congress shouted slogans against the Bahujan Samaj Party that rules in the state.
Samajwadi Party legislators expressed their ire over the murder of Public Works Department engineer M K Gupta in Auraiya District.
The session had to be adjourned after Samajwadi Party members started throwing files and held up a black cloth in protest over the brutal murder.
Gupta was allegedly murdered at the behest of BSP legislator Shekhar Tiwari when he refused to contribute to a fund collection drive for Chief Minister Mayawati''s birthday.
Bharatiya Janata Party members decided to boycott the Governor''s address. (ANI)
