Suzlon Q3 net loss at Rs 390.93 crore
A standalone net loss of Rs 390.93 crore for the third quarter ended December 31 was reported by Suzlon Energy on Friday, the balem of which could be put on forex losses. A net profit of Rs 338.18 crore was registered by the company for the same quarter FY 2008.
In an filing to the Bombay stock exchange, Suzlon Energy said, “The amount for the mark-to-market losses for the third quarter and for the nine-month period ended December stood at Rs 111.40 crore and Rs 202.03 crore, respectively.”
There was plunge in the total income of the company to Rs 1,504.29 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 1,660.95 crore reported in the corresponding period year ago.
The company even posted a standalone net loss of Rs 285.91 crore for the nine month ended December and the total stood at Rs 5,212 crore.
The filing also said, “Further, during the quarter ended December 31, the company made an additional provision of Rs 171 crore towards its blade retrofit programme
(wherein the company had to bear costs arising out of events like blade failures in overseas markets).”
