New York, January 17 : In the run-up to U. S. President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration, political experts have started to gauge what sort of behaviour will be expected from his wife Michelle as the next First Lady.

Robert Watson, author of The Presidents’ Wives, says that apart from caring for her own family, she will also have to show concern about issues that matter.

“You’re talking about an Ivy-educated lawyer who’s the epitome of the modern woman,” the New York Daily News quoted him as saying.

“I think Michelle will have her cake and eat it too, and will address related issues, like drug use and racism. She’ll frame her activities under the rubric of motherhood,” he added.

Watson also said that Michelle would have to behave more responsibly henceforth, and choose her words carefully, as First Ladies are subject to criticism.

“If Laura Bush was Teflon-coated, Hillary Clinton was a lightning rod,” he said. (ANI)
