A five wicket haul by out-of-form Ajit Agarkar, helped Mumbai to win its Ranji Trophy quarter-final against Himachal Pradesh by nine wickets at the Sardar Patel Stadium, Motera on Monday.

Resuming at the overnight score of 200 for the loss of 5 wickets, Himachal Pradesh team could add only 87 runs to its score tally before getting all out for 287, thus, giving Mumbai a target of 43 runs to win the match.

Mumbai reached its target in less than a hour's time, losing one wicket of Ajinkya Rahane (17) who opened the innings with Vinayak Samant.

HP in-form batsman Sarandeep Singh, who scored highest for the teams first innings, was the first to go in the day. Before scoring 18 runs off 19 balls he was caught by Rohit Sharma off Agarkar.

Agarkar then picked up Vishal Bhatia for a duck. With just 5 overs into the 4th day of the match, Himachal team was struggling at 219/7. The medium pacer then picked Paras Dogra who scored 82 for the team. 

Dogra's 90 runs, the highest among his teammates, both innings combined, was studded with 14 boundaries and two sixes. With the departure of Dogra, Himachal were staring defeat with 224/8.
