NGO Protests Against Shahrukh Khan For Smoking During IPL Match
We all know that smoking is a nasty habit, and it's bad for your health!
Moreover, the governments all through the world have started programs helping people to overcome the smoking addiction.
Despite all this, tons of celebrities including Shahrukh Khan, flaunt their bad habits in public.
Recently, the National Organisation for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE) has protested against owner of Kolkata Knight Riders team Shahrukh Khan, who smoked during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match April 21 in South Africa.
In a declaration, NOTE asked its counterpart South African National Council Against Smoking (NCAS) to think over the matter in a serious manner, and stop puffing in the stadium during IPL matches.
Peter Ucko from NCAS informed NOTE, “I chatted with them and sent details and motivation to the supersport. They are the broadcasters. I am soliciting an agreement that they will not show anyone smoking.”
Mr. Shekhar Salkar, NOTE General Secretary, told that they contacted NCAS to explore possible assistance that can be synchronized in South Africa after SRK was shown puffing on a TV screen.
In their reply, NCAS stated that the Act, which will put ban on smoking in sport stadium, is not yet operational.
He said that smoking is not allowed in an enclosed area, and if Khan does it again, they he will be thrown away from the ground.
