New study bring out the concerns about privacy issue
As per a new study, some parts of Google Android had sent personal data of internet users to the servers of the advertisers. Although the study was done only for Android, the privacy issue is not confined to Android or Google. This study was done by researchers from Intel Labs, Duke University and Pennsylvania State University.
They have asserted that a large share of private information is forwarded by Google Android apps to various advertisers.
To monitor, popular third party Android applications.
The researchers have developed an error free tracker system to monitor these applications and have found 68 instances forwarding private information. This information is included in the research paper, which is going to be read at 9th USENIX Symposium. The symposium is being conducted on Operating Systems Design and Implementation.
On Sept 30, at blogsphere, the news of the study was first published. It triggered the privacy concerns across the internet. Shifting into damage-control mode, Google sent an email to eWeek on 30 Sept that while operating, users have to give personal information to the software. Now they will apprise the user that they should not trust any application completely and should give limited information on internet.
