New Law Requires US Fish and Wildlife Service to Comply With Federal Laws

US Congressman Paul A. Gosar on Monday released a statement which would require the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) to obey federal laws and terminate the new regulations that established the dangerous "Nonessential Experimental Population" program for the Mexican wolf.

The statement read that the US Fish and Wildlife Service tried to show that the Mexican wolf population has been nothing short of a disaster. The service admitted on a phone call on January 17, 2015 that about 50% of the Mexican wolves that were bred in captivity didn't survive.

The USFWS stated that wolves that are released into the public have not fared better and have repeatedly hit children and citizens.

The new program is a serious threat to ranchers and citizens living in these regions, the statement read. The statement added that it might also result in causing significant harm to the local economies.

The new regulations that were made active without an appropriation or authorization from Congress defy common sense as nearly 90 % of the wolf's original habitat falls within the border of Mexico.

Representative Steve Pearce, R-N. M., said in a statement that the 'recovery program' of the Mexican wolf is a leading example of why Washington should leave the species recovery to the states.

The US Fish and Wildlife Service's program ignores public safety concerns, threatens the livelihoods of New Mexico's farmers and ranchers, and even fails to set a recovery goal that will lead to a solution.
