Net Devices For Rs 5,000 On The Anvil

The net and PC devices would soon be available at a low price. These devices are being developed by the Indian Institute of Science. These devices are being built with the help of Intel’s Atom processor.

The director marketing of Intel, Prakash Bagri confirmed that the prototype of Netbooks and Nettops has alredy been developed and these are expect to strike the market with in a month. The new products are the part of “Connected Indians” plan of Intel.

Various other companies such as Acer, HCL, Lenovo, Wipro and Zenith are also providing support to complete the project for connecting a billion Indian populations. The big market of India has less than 50 million Internet users and small number of Broadband users.

The new products are as compact as mobile devices. These products will offer basic computing applications, music, e-mailing and web surfing beside internet callings and access to social network sites.

Telecom companies are also expected to offer broadband on low cost. Goggle has also made commitment to offer service in various regional languages. The Internet telephony is also expected to start in the country as TRAI has already recommended regarding its feasibility in India. The minister of communications and IT Mr. A Raja expressed satisfaction on the working of project.
