Nepal leaders meeting in Biratnagar

Kathmandu, Jan. 19: Prime Minister G. P. KoiralaLeaders and representatives of the seven parties that form a part of the coalition government headed by Prime Minister G. P. Koirala, will hold a major meeting in Biratnagar on Saturday.

Security has been tightened in and around the venue of the meeting. Around 700 Nepal Police and 400 Armed Police Force personnel have been deployed.

The mass meeting at Biratnagar's Shahid Maidan, which is being coordinated by the Unified Marxist Leninist (UML), will be addressed by UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal, Maoist leader Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Nepali Congress (NC) leader Bimalendra Nidhi, Nepal Sadbhavana Party (NSP-Anandidevi) leader Shyam Sundar Gupta, and People’s Front leader Amik Sherchan, among others.

The parties had agreed to hold similar joint mass meetings in seven cities across the country in order to create election atmosphere. They have already held one meeting in Kathmandu, reports nepalnews. (ANI)
