Nepal committed to one-China policy, says Prachanda
Kathmandu, Feb 16 (ANI): Nepal Prime Minister Prachanda has said Nepal is in favour of one-China policy.
During a meeting with the visiting delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Sunday, Prachanda said Nepal would not allow any activities in Nepali soil that threaten Chinese sovereignty.
He informed that the government and major political parties are in favour of one-China policy.
After the visiting delegation expressed concern over some anti-China activities in Nepal by Tibetan refugees, Prachanda assured them that special security arrangement will be made in order to combat such activities.
Prachanda also discussed issues related to bilateral relations and Chinese investment in Nepal.
According to Prime Minister''s foreign policy advisor Hira Bahadur Thapa, Prachanda told the delegation that he would visit China within this year.
The Chinese delegation is on a tour of three South Asian nations including the Nepal, the Bangladesh and the Pakistan. The delegation will also attend the eighth general convention of the CPN (UML) in Butawal, Nepalnew reported. (ANI)
