''Nano'' reaches Srinagar
Srinagar, Apr 7 : Nano, the dream car manufactured by Tata Motors, reached Srinagar to an overwhelming response from residents.
Even though official booking for Tata''s Nano is yet to begin, more than 2000 residents have already expressed their eagerness to buy this car.
"As far excitement of people is concerned, it is really overwhelming. We were getting regular enquiries for last few months. Our phones are busy throughout the day with people asking when the car is coming and as to what are the features and what kind of a car it is," said Ghulam Nabi Baba, Manager, Tata Motors showroom.
Although there are several models of sophisticated cars running across the Kashmir valley, the residents are very keen to buy this dream car and drive it.
"Our dream has been fulfilled that we have seen Nano. A lot of people were there who couldn''t afford cars costing two to three lakhs of rupees. But they can buy a car which is being manufactured and sold, costing 1,80,000 rupees and even 1,25,000 rupees," said Parvej Ahmad, a resident.
The Nano can be booked at more than 30,000 locations in 1,000 cities across India, including Tata-owned departmental and electronics stores, with booking forms costing 300 rupees each.
Earlier on March 23, Tata Motors had launched its much-awaited Nano car at Mumbai.
Despite being launched six months behind schedule in a subdued market, with production in the first year severely constrained and the threat of further ratings downgrades hanging over the company, this Nano car has been welcomed by the people of India.
Amidst all these trends, the company has said that it will take over a year to deliver the first 100,000 cars. (ANI)
