Musharraf unhappy with remarks of US presidentail candidates
Islamabad, Jan 10: President Pervez Musharraf has articulated his uneasiness over the volley of statements made by US presidential candidates on Pakistan’s nuclear assets, in a meeting with visiting American Senator Joseph Liebermann, who called on him in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
Senator Hillary Clinton had said in a statement that US should step in and take control of Pakistan’s nuclear assets.
President Musharraf thanked the Senator for his statement of support and harmony with Pakistan following the assassination of former Premier Benazir Bhutto, The News quoted the Foreign office spokesman, as saying.
The president also reviewed the government’s commitment on the holding of free, fair and transparent elections in February. (ANI)
