MTNL To Provide 3G Services To JNU Students
State-owned Mahanagar Telephone limited (MTNL) has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) under which pupils can access the local area network of JNU by making use of the operator's 3G network.
MTNL has established four extra 3G towers on the JNU campus to guarantee good coverage and best quality service to the students.
The pupils will have to pay just Rs 199 in place of Rs 599 on a monthly basis in order to enjoy speedy internet browsing.
Sachin Pilot, minister of state for communications and information technology stated, "The capital expenditure for this is being incurred by MTNL as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility."
Pilot cautioned MTNL and JNU on the possible mistreatment of the facility and asked to make sure security as well as safety of the network. (With Inputs from Agencies)
