London, Jan 9 : It swivels, dips and oscillates in all directions to catch food before it hits the floor. Meet mothers’ latest crush – spill-proof Loopa Gyro Bowl.
Designed for young children, the space-age bowl rotates 360 degrees, and is the brainchild of Melinda Shepard, reports The Daily Express.
The 34-year-old mother of two came up with the idea after finding herself constantly clearing up food spilled by her three-year-old son Aidan.
Her engineer husband Brad, 36, helped put together the innovative design.
Melinda said: “Aidan used to spill his snacks everywhere.
“Finding no products on the market that solved the problem, I described the need to my husband. Together we built a prototype.
“Aidan loved it and it was his interest in the bowl that encouraged us to look for avenues to bring the product to market.”
And the idea became a reality with help from Everyday Edisons, a US version of the Dragons’ Den reality TV show.
The bowl costs 9.99 dollars.
Daniella Delaney, editor of Practical Parenting, said: “It’s such a space-age gadget, it’s a way of getting dad interested in feeding time too.”(ANI)
