Mother Dairy increases milk prices by up to Rs 3 a litre
Citing soaring input costs, Mother Dairy has hiked milk prices in the Delhi-NCR region by up to Rs 3 per litre.
Starting today, full cream milk will cost Rs 3 more per litre, while other variants of milk will be dearer by Rs 2 per litre.
Announcing the price hike, the company said, "Price hike has been necessitated due to significant increase in raw material costs by almost 10 per cent over last year, power tariffs, petroleum prices and other costs."
Full cream milk poly pack (one litre) will now cost Rs 42, while toned milk, token milk and double toned variants will cost Rs 32, Rs 30 and Rs 28, respectively.
Prices of skimmed milk, however, have not been increased. One litre pack of skimmed milk still costs Rs 22.
Mother Dairy said that the price increase was necessary due to increase in input costs.
Mother Dairy is not the only milk company to hike the prices of milk in the recent past. Early this month, Amul had hiked prices of milk by Rs 2 per litre.
