More than 14 likely suicide bombers in Pak custody: Rehman Malik
Islamabad, Oct 4: Rehman Malik, advisor to Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on internal matters, has said that more than 14 likely suicide bombers along with their handlers are in government’s custody.
Talking to the media, he said that action was being taken against anti-state elements on the basis of information extracted from arrested bombers and their facilitators.
Malik urged the nation to join hands and help eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country.
Due to effective measures taken by the government only four incidents of suicide blasts have occurred in the country during the last few months and rest prevented owing to efficient intelligence services, The News quoted Malik, as saying.
“FATA people are extending all possible services to security forces and fully cooperating with the forces to eliminate terrorism and 42 Afghan terrorists have also been arrested from Bajaur Agency,” he added.
Lauding the services of Salarzai tribe of Bajaur agency, Malik said they have constituted a ‘Lashkar’(army) of 5,000 tribesmen to fight along with security forces to exterminate terrorists from their respective areas.
Severely condemning attack on ANP chief Asfandyar Wali, he urged people to help government in eliminating the menace.
Malik said government was making maximum efforts to detect would be bombers. (ANI)
