MoE's strategy launched

H.E. Sultan bin SaeedDubai, 19 Nov. 2008 - Economy Minister H. E. Sultan bin Saeed Al mansouri today announed the launch of the Ministry's new strategic plan for 2008-2010.

In a ceremony held here to announce the the new strategy, Al Mansouri reiterated commitment to change and development and to achieving all-round growth, "which is the key concern of the UAE Federal Government's vision for an era of excellence." "Today, we announce a new strategy for the Ministry of Economy for the 2008-2010 years. This represents a framework and mechanism to crystallize our growth aspirations. On this occasion, I would like to applaud all your efforts in contributing towards implementing the framework of this strategy," Al Masnouri said.

I would like to stress that you are the pillars of this new strategy, and with your efforts the Ministry can attain success and excellence Through your efforts we will be able to fulfill our vision which is "Achieving a competitive international economic stature and balanced, stable growth guaranteeing the UAE Nationals' participation in the economic activities" Your efforts will guide us to meet our goals through the values of creativity, efficiency, transparency, team work, excellent service, commitment to sustained development and fostering partnership with the private sector and local departments.

The Ministry has put together a plan for the next three years that includes general frameworks and strategic initiatives until 2010.

This strategy includes a flexible framework that can be altered according to local, regional and international changes. This strategy is in line with the directives of the Federal Government, whereby we aim at sustained economic growth by leveraging on the competitive advantage of the national economy." The Minister noted that the coming period will see a lot of challenges especially with the financial crisis.

"Due to international challenges the economy faces, the responsibility laid on the MoE is big and we have adopted an integrated media plan, as we recognize the need to communicate on both the internal and external level. This move will surely support the MoE's efforts to address the international crisis and the important role played by the media in these difficult times." (WAM/MAB)
