Minnesota employers added 4,300 jobs in July

Minnesota employers added 4,300 jobs in JulyAccording to the latest data released, employers in the US state of Minnesota added a total of 4,300 jobs during the month of July.

Jobs growth in education, health care and finance was enough to overcome the fall in construction and manufacturing sectors. The unemployment rate for the state remained unchanged at 5.2 per cent, but remains significantly below the national average of 7.4 per cent, according to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.

The employers in the state have added a total of around 5,000 jobs per month during the previous three months. Experts have said that the unemployment rate is unlikely to fall lower but the job creation rate is conformable for the state's economy. If het state is able to record another strong month of job growth, it would be able to return to a record of all-time employment high that was set in February 2008, before the recession took away 160,000 Minnesota jobs.

The local government emerged as the largest job creator in July adding 3,800 jobs, mostly at public schools while hiring at school districts rose 10 per cent from the previous year recording a growth of 10,000 jobs.
