Mindy Kaling's brother pretended to be black to get into Healthcare College
It has been revealed by Vijay Chokal-Ingam, brother of Mindy Kaling, that he faked his ethnicity to get into healthcare college. He said that he pretended to be black so as to get into the institution. He revealed this is a case of, ‘I’m going to ride my popular sibling’s coattails to champion my trigger’.
According to Chokal-Ingam, he revealed this after he heard that UCLA is taking into account escalating its affirmative-action admissions policies. He added that it is not true that affirmative action is helpful for the underprivileged.
After he got in false pretenses, Chokal-Ingam dropped out of St. Louis University Healthcare College after two years.
Chokal-Ingam wrote in his weblog at almostblack.com, “I got into medical school for the reason that I stated I was black. The funny point is I’m not. My program essentially worked. Fortunate for you, I under no circumstances became a doctor”.
Vijay posted a photo of his applications and said he shaved his head and also trimmed his Indian eyelashes. According to him, after that he applied to medical school as a black man and he appeared so different that in the beginning, his own fraternity brothers were also not able to recognize him. He also said that he also joined the Organization of Black Students.
As per Chokal-Ingam, initially, when he applied to medical schools he found that he was wait-listed at University of Pennsylvania, Washington University and Mt. Sinai. And because of that he claimed to be black in order to apply to schools. Chokal-Ingam suffered the pain of racism and took such a step, which he has revealed now.
