Napier (New Zealand), Mar. 2 : New Zealand fast bowler Kyle Mills believes that there is a nice feel to the squad on the eve of the five one-day matches to be played against India.

Fresh from a two-week layoff due to an Achilles tendon injury, senior pacer Mills remarked at the depth emerging when players of the calibre of Scott Styris, James Franklin and Jeetan Patel can be overlooked for the one-day series.

"I didn''t play the Twenty20s but sitting back watching it I thought, `Man, this is a handy side we''ve got,"'' stuff. co. nz quoted Mills, as saying.

"And just walking back into the squad there is a nice feel about things. There is some confidence about, everyone is doing their job and it just feels good," he added.

Once Mills proved his fitness he was an automatic selection after being the standout bowler across both sides in the Chappell-Hadlee series in Australia.

"No Scotty, no Jeetan, no Chris Martin we have got some depth at the moment," Mills said, adding "It''s hard on them, but good for us as a cricket team."

On that note, Mills has a belief that, if New Zealand can dominate India this summer, then it should earn them recognition as a serious cricket nation again.

"We want to put New Zealand on the map and winning the Twenty20 series was a good start. Hopefully we can go 1-0 up in Napier and then just continue on through the one-dayers and the test matches," said Mills, 29. (ANI)
