Militants making life difficult for Manipuris
Imphal, Jan 1 : The situation in Manipur is continues to be disturbed following bomb attacks by militants.
Just a day after Christmas, a grenade exploded outside Inpha Dental Clinic near the R. I. M. S. Road in Imphal.
Four members of a family were caught in the explosion and seriously injured.
The family was traveling in an auto-rickshaw from the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital.
A victim Rameshwor said : “While moving along the RIMS road, there was a loud bang When the explosion took place, Chacha shouted that he was hurt in his face and asked the auto to stop.”
“According to Chacha, he saw someone throwing some object towards the clinic. But I cannot comment on their target. Sapam X-Ray and many other offices are also located around this place. When we heard the loud bang, we all got nervous,” he added.
In another shocking incident, suspected militants shot dead two civilians in Imphal''s West district.
The bodies of the civilians with their hands tied behind their backs were recovered near a canal.
Police say they have found a piece of paper, which says that the deceased are informants of security forces.
Police suspect that a militant group is behind the murder. (ANI)
