Guwahati, Feb. 4 : The militants while unleashing violence forget to realize how the victims of their acts would suffer long after people would forget the incident. It affects so many lives and gravely destroys hopes and dreams of victims' families.

Forty four-year-old Dhiren Kakati died in last month's bomb blast in Guwahati city. He worked with the Indian railways in Guwahati. His untimely death has left a vacuum in the lives of the family members.

On the fateful day, Dhiren had just gone to market for shopping for his little daughter. But he returned dead. His little children still do not know that that their father will never return home again.

He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

"I want this state of unrest to end and peace to prevail. Bomb blasts should stop. The amount of pain I am going through by losing my husband, I pray and hope that nobody else goes through this," said Neili Lakshmi Kakati, Dhiren's wife.

Near and dear ones gathered at Dhiren's house and participated in the prayers for the departed soul. Everyone asked do these militants think even for once before triggering a blast how it would affect others' lives.

"By killing innocent people, I don''t know how they (militants) are feeling but for someone who has lost their brother, son and family members it''s really difficult to bear the pain. No one can compensate for the loss, neither the militants nor the government," said Dinesh Kakati, victim''s brother.

"Everyone is afraid to go out of their homes. Thee is no surety of lives for people out here as to what may happen next," said victim''s brother.

The recent bomb blasts that rocked Assam left many families facing an uncertain future.

Prior to January blast, nine blasts in different parts of Assam claimed 89 lives and left over 500 injured on October 30, 2008.

On New Year''s Day, three blasts in Guwahati killed five people and injured 51 others. And again on 9th January a blast at the Maligaon market in Guwahati killed two and injured seven persons.

The spate of such incidents has affected peace, normalcy and the development process in the state and destroyed many more lives than the dead. (ANI)
